Hey! So I've been gone for awhile, I know. It's exam week and up until this morning I was knee deep in too much work! In any case, I only have one more exam to go and that's not until next Monday. So - YAY. I don't think these photos didn't turn out so great - but I liked the outfit anyway. My brain feels mushy - I can't tell what I like anymore! Halp!
outfit deets: skirt - thrifted // skirt as top - thrifted // belt - thrifted // cardigan...thrifted!
Yowz! I love it when I put together a totally thrifted outfit and don't realize 'til I'm writing the outfit deets.
This dress is from h&m a few seasons ago and it's pretty done in but I still love it. It some comfortable, I feel like I'm walking around in pajamas. It's pretty short though so I usually throw a skirt or something under it. It was still cold out today so I added a blazer over it and I was good to go! I didn't do much today except finish up one of my essays. 1 essay down 1 more to go!...and 2 exams and an assignment - then CUBA! :)
So I was doing some googling the other day, and I googled my first and last name and who came up but this lovely lady! We share the same exact name and obviously similar tastes when it comes to jewellery because I am in love with all of her jewellery designs. I decided I needed to share a bit of her work because it is just so fantastic. I think probably my fave piece of hers is the birdie bracelet on the left. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy. SO CUTE! Robyn's jewellery is especially cool because most of it is made from recyled finds. She usually starts with one focal bead and then models the rest of the piece after that bead. Also, if sharing a name wasn't enough - we share a love for vintage clothing! Too bad she lives in the UK or else I would probably be stalking her right now.
Helloo peoples. Today was a really long day - now I'm super wiped. I got a little crazy today while taking pictures. This could be largely due to the fact that it was SNOWING slightly as I snapped these and I was freeezing in my t-shirt. I needed to dance around (or do some tae kwon do) as I took the photos to stay warm. These next few weeks are going to be really busy for me - school is about to get pretty ridiculous but I am going to try and not procrastinate! I can do it. Anyway guys I'm going to keep it short today because I need sleep and also because this is already a photo-heavy post!

Hey guys! So, I got glasses. I actually have really terrible vision, but for the past 6 years I have been pretty exclusively wearing contacts. I decided it was about time to get some glasses that I might actually enjoy wearing, so I got these guys. Aesthetically speaking I am pretty pleased, even though sometimes I look in the mirror and feel like I am 12 again. I am having one hezmattah of a time getting used to the way they make the world look, though. For those of you who wear glasses, is there a difference in the way the world looks with glasses vs contacts? I can't tell if my dilemma is a normal one or not. In any case, I think I am beginning to get used to them.
I had fun taking pictures outside in the rain today. My umbrella is pretty over-exposed for some reason but that's okay because it's not-so-cute. A whole slew of little kids walked by as I was taking pictures, it was super distracting, I got a few snaps with them included but they all turned out blurry and I didn't exactly want to post their little mugs to the innernet without permission.
I have worn almost this exact outfit twice this week (save for the tights). It's actually so comfy and I love the look with the glasses. The skirt is another holy-grail thrift find. It has just the perfect amount of stretch and I know it is probably hard to tell from the pictures but it has this cute little two-tone pattern.

I included the above photo despite its over-exposedness because of the little Robin posing for the camera on the right! So cute. Robyn and the Robin. My first of two Roby/in features, you guys will see what I mean later.
I'm pretty pleased with the way the photos turned out today! This is what I wore for Easter Dinner at my aunt's house. Dinners at my aunts are always pretty ridiculous but equally delicious. om nom. Afterwards Dale and I went back to his house to watch the season premiere of Doctor Who. New Doctor, new Tardis, new video quality, new sonic screwdriver! Ahh! His new outfit is pretty rad though, I've decided. Maybe even just a little bit cooler than David Tennant's chucks. What do you guys think?
Anyway! About my outfit... this tee is one of my faves. It's from Mendocino and I spent more on it than anyone should spend on a t-shirt but it's lasted years and just gets better with age. I thrifted the skirt at the Holy Grail Talize I mentioned in my last post. I found it just as we were leaving and immediately fell in love with it. It goes with 80% of my existing wardrobe. Score.
Hey guys, it's been a bit - I know! I've been super busy with school. I had today off though, so a buncha my friends and I grabbed lunch and went for a walk in high park. I'm really lucky to live pretty close to the largest park in Toronto. I opted to rollerblade there today with some sandals in my bag to change into when I needed to walk - it worked out pretty well.

I went thrifting yesterday and wow - we found the holy grail of thrifting out in Mississauga. There is a Value Village, a sally-ann, a Talize, and a CTS all on one corner. For those of you who live in the area the holygrail can be found at Dixie and Dundas. Don't tell too many people though - the stores are all full of great things and aren't picked over like the thrift stores closer to downtown. So good!
After we finished our walk in High Park we went to Laura Secord to get some ice cream and discuss the low-points of globalization. I have known these girls since grade 1-2 and they are still my besterest of friends. This is only 3 out of 5 of them (1 is behind the camera). It is a rare occasion now that we all hang out together at the same time now but we made a point of it to do it today. I find a lot of inspiration in these girls, fashion related and otherwise.
Do you guys have any friends that you've had since elementary school? I don't meet many people who still do!
