outfit deets: shoes, belt - vintage // tights - h&m // skirt - thrifted // top - Le Chateau
This is what I wore today, all day, and it was really comfortable. It was another boiling day so I was happy to be wearing white on top. I liked the look of the tights, because I didn't want to appear too casual - but it would have been cooler without them. Didn't matter so much though because I was in an air conditioned office setting for most of the day.
I liked the way these pictures turned out today - it was just starting to cloud over as I snapped them so I liked the lighting that provided a lot. I had fun with it. Now as I am sitting here I hear thunder rolling in. Time for showers!

I don't think I could really classify my style only because I wear peices from different "styles" all the time. I understand how that could frustrate you but would be helpful for chictopia.
ReplyDeleteI like the tights but I'm pretty sure I would fry up in the heat we're having. Maybe I'm just a baby, ha.

you do high waisted skirts so well :)and im loving your tights...
ReplyDeletebut yes, i concur on the whole labels thing... i think you should just come up with a term thats a mish mash of everythign and spread it like wild fire... like "hip-ock-tag-sic" only better.
(this was my half-assed attempt at combining hipster, punk, vintage and classic!)
lols Melrose that is too cute! I love it though. For a second draft what about: hip-unk-vin-assic? :p
ReplyDeleteI've often pondered the idea of defining personal style. Difficult, indeed! I often settle with something like "eclectic", which I feel touches on the idea of mixing old pieces with new, and a feminine aesthetic with harder-edged pieces. My tagline for Bicyclette (my soon-to-be-online boutique) is "street style meets fairytale" which really resonates with me. It calls to mind urban city life with a whimsical twist, or something like that!
