I am not a hoarder by any definition of the word but I am still not good at getting rid of things! I'll tell you why I am bad at it. Often times I'll have a piece in my closet and I haven't worn it for a long time and I think that I will probably never have a reason to wear it again and so I'll donate it. Then a few months later I am wishing I never donated that piece because I thought of the perfect way to wear it again! I can't count the amount of times this has happend to me. I think I need to come up with a better system for getting rid of clothes because I am going to have to do another big purge soon. My cloffice is over-flowing. How do you guys decide which items to boot from your wardrobe?
I haven't worn this dress since the dog days of summer but I thought it was capable of doing some double duty so I just paired it with a cardigan and a scarf and it was good to go. I shrunk the dress accidentally a while after buying it and it was too short to wear without tights but it works pretty great with some opaque tights, I think.
I have a pretty funny post I'm working on for tomorrow! I'm excited :)

This is so beautiful! I love the scarf with the pattern of the dress-it looks great!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit! I love your scarf.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm doing a reeeally big closet purge, I try everything on. If it doesn't fit I put in in the giveaway pile. If it fits but I haven't worn it forever/don't know how to style it, I put it in the maybe pile and then I keep the rest. I give myself a week or 2 deadline on the maybes and if I haven't come up with a cool way to style it by then I put it in the giveaway. I normally let my sister and friends look through my stuff first because it's fun to see them wear it (& I can always borrow it back!) then I bring the rest to a thrift store or donate it. Wow, that was a lot longer than I thought it was gonna be. Probably wish you never asked. :P
Every so often I go through my closet to get rid of things because one year I realized I had something from the 6th grade! That's crazy!
ReplyDeleteWith that said, this is DEFINITELY a great outfit! Love the patterns and colors.
You just described my relationship with half of my clothes.
ReplyDeleteI adore that last photo of you, swissy missy. <3
Love how you this together. The blue on blue looks great!
ReplyDeleteAh, I can't never get rid of my clothes for the same reasons you cant. It is extremely annoying.. As a matter of fact, the dress I am wearing on my recent post, I've had it since I was in 5th grade... Im telling you.. it is so sad..
Fantastic outfit! The scarf and the dress go great together-- just can't get enough of the color blue :)
ReplyDeleteIt usually takes me awhile to phase things out of my closet, but when I do there is very little of me looking back. I just think happy thoughts that the next girl who wears it will be thrilled to style it however she chooses!
