Rhitbee Anne Vintage photoshoot, part one

As promised here is part one of the Rhitbee Anne Vintage photoshoot. The day of the photoshoot was so much fun. It started out with Joana of perfectely ; imperfect meeting us at Adrienne's house where she dolled us up real good. Honestly guys, that girl works wonders. Look at my face! I kept looking at myself and thinking - "who is that girl?" I wish my skin was actually that flawless. She did such a good job of really just working with our faces and bringing out our features. Above and beyond the wonders she works with makeup, at the actual photoshoot she was such a little Jay Manuel. She had a great eye for what would look good on camera and what wouldn't! If you want to see more of Joana's work check her out here: perfectely ; imperfect.

After we had our makeup done we headed to High Park to meet Liz. We show up and I spot Liz waiting and I'm thinking, "she looks great but where is her camera?" I was soon to find out her camera was tucked away in her purse which was actually a camera carrying case in disguise. It was this black sort of quilted bag a la classic Chanel with a chain strap! Really chic. I digress - ahah back to the photoshoot. Liz's stylish exterior is really projected onto her artistic vision. The photos she snapped are just so polished and elegant. I wish I could achieve this effect all the time with my daily outfit photos! She was a pleasure to work with and I would jump at the chance to work with her again. If you want to see more of Liz - you should totally visit her website: Elbon Photography. She's been doing portraiture lately but she would like to delve further into the world of events and special events. So if you're in Toronto and need a photographer or makeup artist - both Elizabether and Joana come highly reccommended by me!

I acted as the stylist on this shoot and styled up all of the outfits. It was a bit tricky acting as the stylist for myself as there weren't a lot of mirrors around so I had to just hope my dress was laying right. I really love styling though - I hope I can do more of it in the future. One of my best friends Adrienne (pictured in the blue polka dot dress) helped me out in the modelling department. She looked so great in this dress and just wait until you see her in the floral romper!

Anyway guys I'll have the second round of photos sometime within the next few days. Keep your eyes peeled.

Don't forget to enter the Rhitbee Anne Vintage giveaway. You could snap up one of these little dresses almost for free with 15 dollars off!

Alrighty guys that's all for today!

Happy Saturday :)

Hellos! I have had one heck of a past two days. It was bad mood central over here. I was having serious issues with school and money and ahh it was just too much for me. As the summer wraps up so do a lot of my projects I've been working on and the beginning marks the start of a lot of new projects and this is where the two meet and I've just been overwhelmed. So much so that I just broke down whilst trying to buy movie tickets online. I figured it out though and tonight I am seeing Scott Pilgrim vs The World! SO excited. I'll let you guys know how it was. Anyway, I'm feeling better now after a trip to do some thrifting and see my nan.

I wore this outfit to run some errands and go to the post office. It was pretty simple because it was so hot oustide. I couldn't wear anything heavier. I wanted a black top but something with a little more interest than a tank so I threw this vintage slip on and one of my old stand by floral skirts. I was pretty nice and cool.

I took these photos at the church my aunt used to take me to when I was little - well OK I think she took me there a few times. I remember going and wearing a plaid skirt. It's my "family church" though - and I like the brick action happening. I didn't bring my tripod so had to settle to find things to balance the camera on. I am so coming back and taking more photos.

Anyway guys, I got the photos from my photoshoot yesterday! So expect some photos from that tomorrow. Eeek so excited.

Also, Rhitbee Anne Vintage is going to be at the Parkdale Bazaar on Saturday, so if you're in Toronto and into vintage and handmade - come check it out!

Alright lovelies - talk soon!

the upside of layering

Hello lovelies - how are we today? Did you all check out the giveaway I posted early this morning? I hope so. I don't want to bug you all with it too much - but how cool would it be if I reached my goal of 35 entries? You can enter here, if you haven't already. I also have a nifty little button I've put up for during the giveaway - you can see it on the left sidebar there.

Sorry for my terribly punny title today but this outfit was largely inspired by Amanda of The Upside of Wonder. I love how she always puts cute little blouses under her dresses. This look and this one as well are my favourite examples of her tendency to do this. Anyway so the initial outfit idea was inspired by her but once I got going it took a little bit of a different turn when I threw the blouse with the ascot tie on underneath. After I saw the effect that created I put some socks on and my trusty black oxfords and ended up with a look that I quite like!

This is one of my favourite dresses but the weight of it is really more conducive to Fall or Spring. I did a four ways post with it this past spring. I sweat it out for awhile in this but ultimately had to change.

Alright guys so don't forget to enter the giveaway :p

Talk soon,

xx Robyn

So I have a pretty wrinkly outfit for you today. I swear to you the dress didn't look this wrinkly off camera. I don't know what it's problem is. Darn dress goin' around ruining photos! Anyway, I still like this outfit. It's super cute and comfy. I'm still in love with chambray and plan on wearing it into the Fall. Also, how sick are you guys getting of my Deena and Ozzy oxfords? I promise to switch it up soon. I just can't get enough of these shoes though.

Yesterday I had a little sale down on King St. for Summer Company. I thought I'd snap some photos and show you guys the little set up I had going on. It was just a small thing so I didn't bring my rolling rack. Next week I will have a bigger set up going on for the Parkdale Bazaar! I'm excited for that. I'll let you know a little bit more about it closer to the day. I'm so new to this selling in person thing - it's a little bit daunting but I have a lot of fun doing it. Have you guys had an experience with selling at bazaars or shows? Good or bad stories welcome!

Happy Tuesday!

what Babs wore, round two

what Babs wore: dress - Rhitbee Anne Vintage // belt - vintage // pendant - Rhitbee Anne Vintage // sunglasses - Rhitbee Anne Vintage

Time for another what Babs wore! I just love this green ethnic print dress. It's been up in my shop for a little while now and it was getting a little lonely hanging on the R.A.V. rack so I decided to give it some loving and style it up on Babs! Everything she is wearing is up for sale in the shop, except for the belt. I have had that belt for years and years and it was my moms before mine. It's one of my all time favourite pieces.

I thought these gorgeous cat eye sunglasses would look cute with these dress so I threw them on Babs! They're up in the shop right now though along with some other vintage sunglasses!

Also, the dress from the last what Babs wore is up for sale in the shop now too!

Today is my second Summer Company Sizzling sale - you can see the flyer here if you scroll down. I'm hoping it doesn't rain!

hugs and wishes for clear skies,

Robyn

down by the lake

One of my favourite parts of living in Toronto is the lake and lakeshore. The city would not be as great without being located on it. A lot of my favourite memories have the lake as a backdrop. Going to the Caribana parade with my dad when I was a kid in the covered wagon he made for my brother and I that he would pull behind his bike! Or seeing Blink 182 when I was 16 at the Molson Amphitheatre on the lake. Or standing outside in seriously freezing cold weather at the Kool Haus by the lake waiting for The Movielife to play or The Used and then my dad would pick us up afterwards and drive me and all of my friends home and our car would pass the place that I am standing in these pictures.

It's just kind of a shame that the city doesn't invest more into our waterfront. I look at Tieka's pictures of her by the lake in Grand Rapids and it's just so gorgeous! Granted Toronto is different because it's a monster city - but that doesn't mean we couldn't have more quant little lakefront places. We have a few - but not enough.

Do any of you live in a city/town where a certain place or landmark makes or breaks the city or town for you?

In these photos I am standing on the streetcar tracks and about 200 metres to my right is the lake, even though you can't see it! These were taken yesterday after a long afternoon of snapping photos. I cannot wait until I can show you guys the pictures :). Anyway I just wore this dress to the photoshoot and back. It was super comfy and I just love the colour! There's some cool detailing around the neck and at the bottom that you can't see because we took these in the very last breaths of light that the sun had for us. I really love the feeling they have to them though.

Anyway guys thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have very very lovely Saturdays.

perfect shiny heart

outfit deets: shoes - UO // skirt - thrifted // blouse - Joe // necklace - Dale // bracelet and belt- vintage

I don't know if you guys have noticed before but I always wear the same necklace.  You can see it vaguely in the last picture there.  Dale gave it to me for my birthday last year and I've barely taken it off since.  I love that it has gold and silver in it - because I never have to worry about what kind of jewellery I can wear with it.  It's perfect, I couldn't have picked a better necklace out myself.  It's also real shiny because it's diamond cut silver.  I love shiny things. I'll get some better pictures of it at some point so you guys can see it better.

Anyway I often pair other necklaces with it but only ones that are longer, which ruled out the blue and silver necklace pictured above.  On a longer chain it would have gone perfect with this outfit but I didn't have a longer one available so I just took some quick photos of it for the purposes of this post! Also, it's going up in the shop in a few days so I didn't want to fiddle around with it too much.  It's got the craziest design on the front that looks very celtic and something engraved in the back but aside from the numbers I can't tell what it says.  I think it might be in another language.

Alright guys so the Rhitbee Anne Vintage giveaway ended last night and the winner of the twohearts silver ring is... Brooke! Who was actually the last person to enter and was worried she wouldn't make the deadline. Congrats! I'll be sending you an e-mail soon to ask for your mailing info!

I'm going to have another Rhitbee Anne Vintage giveaway soon for a voucher to the shop, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
